We honor the life of Amanda Kuberski, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend who tragically passed away on April 1. Amanda’s warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit touched everyone she met. Her caring nature and genuine smile made her a beacon of positivity in her community and among her family.
Born on July 20, 1976, in Saginaw, Michigan, Amanda was a compassionate soul from the start. She was baptized and married at Holy Family Church to Tony Kuberski, with whom she raised her three children. Amanda attended Heritage High School, where she actively participated in soccer and basketball, forging lifelong friendships through her athletic pursuits. Her passion for sports continued at Michigan State University, where she graduated in 1998 and remained an enthusiastic Spartan fan. She loved watching her children participate in soccer, track, and downhill skiing, creating memorable family moments filled with excitement and pride.
Amanda’s love for nature was evident in her beautifully maintained flower garden, admired by many who passed by her home. Professionally, Amanda dedicated her life to healthcare, working at prestigious institutions like the University of Michigan Medical Center, Northwestern Hospital in Chicago, and most recently at Thirlby Clinic in Traverse City as a medical technologist. Her dedication to helping others made a lasting impact on her patients and colleagues.
Amanda is survived by her children Lilly, Addie, and Nickolas Kuberski; her former spouse Tony Kuberski; her parents Dorothy and Charles Wepking, and Joe and Diane Kiebel; her sisters Gretchen Federico and Kathryn Kiebel Carlton; and her nieces and nephew Taylor, Reece, Lainey, and Harper. Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will forever be remembered by all whose lives she touched.
A memorial service will be held on May 7th at St. Francis Church in Traverse City at 11:00 a.m., with a public visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan are appreciated to continue Amanda’s legacy of caring.
